Mobilizing takes on new meaning through community intervention, informed by OTEI’s long standing record of fostering social solidarity, intercultural collaboration and mutual aid.
Leveraging data, culture and communal care, The Rest Project is a network of unique, accessible spaces for individuals in need of true rest and restoration.
The Rest Project is a reparations-based initiative dedicated to making genuine, meaningful rest accessible to all, one space at a time. As a socio-cultural research project and public health initiative, our goal is to broaden access to rest, leveraging its transformative power to heal, restore, and unite.
Our expansive collaborations, collective memory, courage, and intelligence are put to use in building self-determination — and generating abundance. Let’s reap communal benefits for our rights, justice, economics and thinking. Restoring our youth to elders, acknowledging established and emerging organizations and community leaders who have, despite all odds and systemic realities, continued to work tirelessly to serve, support and advocate for the Afrodesdecenant communities in Tiohtià:ke, also known as Montreal.
For you all, we’re going steady.
We are a dream that has come to life. There is currently no social impact real estate project of this nature anywhere in Canada.
