Originally founded in 1986 as La Cellule De Réveil De La Communauté Haïtienne, Organisation Têtes Ensemble Internationale (OTEI) was born in Quebec’s Outaouais region, on Anishinaabe territory. Rapidly gaining traction and support from the local community, OTEI’s remarkable impact was felt both on-site and overseas.
In Ayiti, OTEI’s past and present programs include building infrastructure in the form of schools, clinics and wells. OTEI’s on the ground efforts also include the development of curricula and personal development programs with local educators to combat illiteracy and promote trades learning.
In Tiohtià:ke, also known as Montreal, OTEI first focussed on intervening in urban centres through food and clothing distribution and while providing guidance to those who wished to access adapted services or care through allied organisations.
In 2024, Organisation Têtes Ensemble will be further anchoring itself in its values of solidarity, cooperation and strategic partnership. With a deep commitment to strengthening regional, national and transnational ties while developing co-creative partnerships in social innovation, diasporic real estate interventions and restorative social justice.
Empowering Connections: AYITI and Quebec Unite at the Heart of OTEI's Partnerships and Programs.
Historically, both territories evolved within an intercultural context created by the cohabitation of peoples with distinct identities, cultural specificities and traditions. Recognizing and honouring the ancestral history of our territory, particularly the significance of being on Indigenous land, underscores the importance of fostering respectful and inclusive connections.
Join us as we scale our vision to promote socio-economic inclusion, self-determination of vulnerable populations and a legacy of always putting people first.
